I made a post 3 days ago that my oscars had laid eggs... well I was going to let nature do it's work and let the oscars do all of the work... Well today I noticed that about 1/3 of the eggs were actually fertilized...I was so confused on the amber=fertile and white=infertile...Today that became clear today along with a load of wrigling tails...I couldn't stand it anymore and wanted to be sucessful so i separated the eggs into a hatchery tank....Next question is....What should I feed the fry? I know I have a little time before they actually hatch and have depleted their egg sack. I have a package of Hikari's First Bites, would that work. Or do I need to hatch brine shrimp? I was never great at hatching brine shimp so I am looking for an alternative or fool proof way of hatching them.

Thanks
Clayton

You could grind up normal flake food, I dont know what "Hikari's first bites" are, but if it is some kind of very small/powdery fish food, it will probably work. You could hatch brineshrimp, but come petstores carry small ones. In a local petstore here there were some other types of small invertibates (possibly baby daphnia), just go and see what they have.

First bites is a flower like powder.. Unfortunately I live about an hour from the nearest decent petstore. The petstore here is a joke.
