Oscar growth rate?

What is an Ocars growth rate? When my brother got one from petco (dun dun dun!) The lady said it would grow very very fast. Wikipedia say very slow...Is it a fast or slow growth rate?

mine took a year to be 11 inches long. he hasn't grown much in a long time though. they do grow fairly fast though.

Super fast. My roommate bought one in April at a little over 2 inches. He gave it away early last month at about 7 inches. That was with both of us feeding him quite a bit though. Pollack fillets, cooked shrimp, crickets, minnows, comets, hikari gold, algae wafers- he ate it all.

They grow fast, about an inch a month. I had one from 2" to 10" in 9 months.

mine grew really fast, in a month, he had already doubled his size. i feed him prawns, salmon, tuna, mussels, hikari gold pellets, frozen cubes of beefheart and spirulina pellets. so, yep, i would say that oscars grow really fast.
