I bought this oscar @ 2.5 inches long. It's only been 2 months or so. He is over 7 inches long and thick as heck. Is that normal? I know they grow fast but wow. The last picture is when I got him. uploadfromtaptalk1366175468730.jpguploadfromtaptalk1366175500635.jpguploadfromtaptalk1366175468730.jpguploadfromtaptalk1366175521589.jpg

so...4.5 inches in 2 months, either your soaking its food in roids or trollin

No troll. I will measure when I get off work. I may be off a little. But only a half inch at most.

He's as long as my hand give or take. Either way it seems drastic to me. My mom has 2 Oscars that she has had for 4-5 months longer than I have. And they are significantly smaller than mine. I do 2 to 3 water changes a week, and feed pellets, ghost shrimp, and blood worms. I may be overfeeding a little, because it is hard to get food to the other fish.

I am being completely serious. I am wondering if I am speeding up his growth with excessive water changes? Or is it normal to grow so fast.

Yes mine grew at the same rate. 1 inch a month always seemed a little slow to me. Make it 1,5-2 inch a month till they hit 9 inch. That is of course when you feed a lot and change a lot of water.

It's a little sad that people say your trolling just because your Oscar grows fast thanks to your good water quality and the amount you feed.
