I'm going to be getting some Oscars in the near future. I know they are prone to HITH if water quality is poor. Are there any other things to watch out for? Also, I'm thinking of getting one veil tail Oscar. Are veil tails going to be more prone to getting bacterial infections like fin rot than a normal tailed Oscar? I typically so one 50 percent water change every week, clean the filter packs and filters once every two weeks (sometimes weekly), and I change filter cartridges monthly. Running two penguin 350 filters on the back. I have nowhere for a sump so I make do with what I have.
