Alright so I have 2 oscars haven't had a problem in the world with them until today. i noticed scratch marks on the side of one of my oscars. since they are both outgrowing their tank i just thought they were bumping against the side of the tanks and the decor in the tank. I didn't really worry about it because they are being moved to a much larger tank in 6 days so i didn't think much of it. While watching them again i saw the larger oscar being picked on by my smaller one and really getting beat up, so i removed the larger oscar and filled up my recycling bin ( which is somewhat tiny, i use the bin for water changes, a college kid has to make do eh) and placed him in there with an airrator, now my plan of action until i go home in 6 days is keep the larger oscar in the container while doing water changes every day so the temperature and all the ammonia levels stay even. Would this be okay until i can move them into the larger tank? if the larger oscar doesn't eat from the container i may put him back in the tank for like an hour feed him and remove him. but would this be okay for 6 days? i really do not want to lose this guy he's my baby :(

I suppose it depends on your room temperature, I know my o's got a little lethargic when their heater went out, most likely he'll be fine though. a week without eating wont hurt him at all tough.

I'll add i'd probably have pulled the smaller one out seing as I expect your bin is smaller than your tank, this will give the big one time to heal in the bigger, warmer, filtered tank.

room temperature in the dorm i believe is like around 68 degrees i would imagine he seems lethargic a little now, if their fighting in the tank would it be okay if i put them in the same bucket when i have to bring them home? i don't think they will because of how scared they'll be..but i'm not sure i'd rather not lose these guys 6 days before transferring them, and their both going to have to last aroud 24 hours in room temperature water that may vary depending where i'm traveling lol

guess I dont know for sure, but Id be real surprised if they were fighting in the bucket during transport, all in all o's are pretty hardy fish though, I'm sure they'll be fine, what size tanks are they moving from/to?

don't yell at me, i got them really small and did this on purpose because school was almost over they were in a 10g they are going to be moved to a 30g in 6 days providing my dad cycled everything :) so they will have plenty of room to establish territory then after that when they outgrow my dad can take them to his work if he refuses to upgrade where he has 100 gallon tanks
