oscar help

IMO, you'll need something that a 14'' fish can turn around in. 5'X2' would be a nice footprint for it.

A 6' 150 gallon would work but they are 18'' wide (I think). 18'' wide would be the min I would shoot for.

an oscar can live confy in a 75 gallons

how big of a tank will i need for one full grown oscar

One full grown Oscar will thrive in a 4-5 foot long by 2ft wide tank, or 75g.....

I know I have seen 55 gallon posted as a suitable tank size numerous times..but I've never kept a full grown oscar so what do I know

I have my big boy in a standard 90 (48X18x24) and he fills it. I think a 72" would be better for a full grown Oscar.

I second that . . . not that it's a minimum or anything, but I think Oscar would be best kept in something 72x24 . . .

I had my Oscar in a 75g and the nitrAtes were out of control even with two changes a week. And he made the tank look small. The 125g is way better for roaming space. Of course I've added an armload of raphael cats, so I still have my nitrAte fun, but it looks more natural than a huge fish in a 75g puddle.
