oscar hole in head?? please help

Was this something that appeared overnight? If so,it's most likely an injury caused by a tankmate or decoration.
The pictures don't show much detail, but the edges of the wound look too 'rough' to be hith.

At first look I thought same thing injury? Definately would need a close up pic though to determine for sure.
It's just an injury. My oscar does that alot. It will heal up just fine. Probably hit his head on the decorations.
Thats not hith, he probally ran into something add aquarium salt 1 teaspoonful per gallon. Metafix works pretty good also.
Still injury, if it eats and active, change water, put some salt(if no plants) and observe.

HITH literally looks like holes appearing in the head. It starts out as indentations.
What you're seeing is an inury, like others said, possibly with some fungus growing on the exposed surface.
It will heal itself as long as you keep the water clean. Water changes are helpful with healing injuries by keeping pollutants and bacteria under control.
Just watch for secondary infections. If it starts to look worse or spread, only then do you need to look into meds. Just like a wound on yourself, it will usually heal on its own if kept clean.
