oscar hole in the head

need help to cure hole in the head. I adapted a 12 inches oscar with a hole in the head problems. i am currently treating it with melafix. water quality is excellent with good types of food. what else could i do with this guy.

No carbon in the filter for one thing

Metronidazole will cure the hexamita, a broad spectrum antibiotic like neamycin or tri-sulfa will take care of any secondary bacterial infection. I have recently seen a few studies that report both in active HITH

more frequent and larger water changes and start supplementing his food with vitimins.
It worked for me.

Tank size and water changes are very important because they are such messy eaters...... Hope your buddy gets better!!!!

They are messy eaters! Mine eats krill, and then spits out the shells!
