He looks like a tiger Oscar, washed out yes, but still a tiger Oscar which is common.

Either those Oscars were feeling very grumpy when that photo was taken or they're just plain unhappy, for whatever reason. The colours should be way more vivid, maybe not vivid all the time, but certainly most of the time. Stress can leave fish washed out like that.

So, if they're just like that occasionally then i'd say no problem. If they're constantly washed out i'd be asking myself some questions on care.

i just transferred them before taking the photo.. I hand fed them all the time and kinda feels like a sandpaper when they falsely bite my fingers.

i will take a photo tomorrow

Lack of substrate usually leads to cichlids like oscars washing out and not showing vivid or true colors.
Most cichlids instinctually try to blend in with their environment.
An example below.
After a spawn I'd temporarily move the male from the breeding tank, to one without substrate
1st shot that haitiensus in a tank with no substrate

Below same male in a tank with ubstrate and some logs.

Thanks for enlighting me.

But I would like to stick with bare bottom tank since they are messy. My tank is only 40g but just temporary. And im pretty lucky to have a big tank soon since i made my dad go into fish keeping, And he will retire soon. Tank will be 8' L x 4' W x 3' H. Set up will be some pbass, bichirs and maybe some silver aro.

Just add a red and black or other background that will make their colors pop
