Hi guys I just got 3 baby Oscars and I knew out of three one is red tiger but I couldn't make a guess on another two.The shopkeeper id them as albino tiger oscar but am sure it's not albino tiger. Can you guys help to id them. I just bought them today, is it normal for an Oscars to rest beneath the filters?. As my Three gets scared when I turned on the lights but they are active with some shyness when lights turned off and they feed well. Will it take some time for them to get settled down. Thanks

looks like 2 lutino, also called lemon Oscars. you really do not want a true albino, they come with bad eye sight, and all the genetics issues that come with them.

easiest way to tell the dif is any graying or blacking on the fins.

case in point my lutino, this is not an albino Oscar. I just shot this for this post, this is not an albino oscar but a lutino. notice the graying on the peck fins.

Learn something new every day, I always went with color of the eyes.

Thanks! I call him homer for obvious reasons, if there is graying on the dorsal or other fins its a lutino, some times it does not show up till 6 or 8 months, albino has absolutely no pigment, the graying is a pigmentation. the eyes can also make the point but is really suggestive to get a definitive answer.
