Will an Oscar be okay in a 60 gallon tank? 48" length 12" Width 24 High. And does anyone think I could add a small bichir? Let me know what you think... 1239987_579730728757155_1006991812_n.jpg1010022_579730892090472_1225331970_n.jpg1185985_576901632373398_575391013_n.jpg543881_576902029040025_182096547_n.jpg998284_579731005423794_709860173_n.jpg

Long term no. Oscars need a minimum 18 width. You need at least a 75 or larger for the Oscar. I don't any experience with keeping Oscar and bichir together but make sure the Oscar can't eat it and provide plenty of hiding spots

A well raised oscar will reach 12" and exceed it comfortably, so no unless you have a plan for when that happens.

edit: Before that happens....

You'd be pushing the limits with a 60. However, as to the oscar with the birchir, yes it can be done. The oscar won't bother the birchir and they'll keep to themselves. Birchirs, in my experience, are very slow to find their food so be patient.

Second this, oscars will eat a bichir if its small enough. (Experienced that)
