Hello,
I just noticed that my albino veil-tail oscar is completely messed up. He's swimming very little and near the bottom of the tank, and has lost almost all of his dangly veil fin bits and one of his pectoral fins is almost entirely gone. This must have happened in the last two days, as he was definitely fine on Weds.
I'm surprised to see him get beat up like this because he's usually one of the more aggressive eaters in the tank. Could disease have done this? The only fish in the tank that could have hurt him potentially are a frontosa, a very small silver dat, a juvie paratilapia, or maybe an electric catfish?
This couldn't be disease, could it? I can't imagine something could erode him physically so fast.
And there's no new fish in the tank* and it's been very peaceful till now.
Thanks!
*I put in 2 ropefish and a small pleco last week. No other fish seemed to care about them, and obviously they didn't do this.
