I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on how to calm down my oscar. I have for about two years and hes always been really easy going, but all of a sudden he become a menace. I have a green severum with him in a 90 gallon with a pleco, and he beats the crap out of the severum all the time and every time a put my hand in the tank he bites me! Already changed decor and it help for like a day. Any suggestions?

its probably just claiming the entire tank as his territory.

Sounds pretty normal. At some point between 1 and two years oscar reaches maturity ans stakes out a territory.A 48x18 tank is about what an oscar wants to claim as his personal space.Theres a good chance he wont bother the pleco, but he will kill the severum.
And get used to getting bit its part of having an oscar:grinyes:

i think someone's ready to breed :nilly:

Really thinks he'll kill the sev? Man that sucks they were such good buddies. The oscar used to swim around my hand and let me touch him now he just bites me. :(

A convict should work fine. Not because its aggressive but due to its smaller size -- for once O may not see him as a territory threat, and if he does, con can hide in places your oscar will not be able to reach
