Ok so I thought one of my O's was dead today when I got home from work. He was back behind some of the plants and rocks and was on his side on the bottom. He was fine earlier today no odd swimming or laying around. But I moved the plant and he took off like I had startled him from his nap or something. Swimming around fine now and does not appear sick in any way. Water parameters are normal no spikes or anything unusual. Has anybody else seen this before???

btw.. next time.. let them wake first.. they'll start swimming around a little, then turn on the lights in the room.. wait another 5-10 minutes then turn on the aquarium lights so u dun stress them!

Normal and it probly wasnt sulking just resting i made my oscar a ditch he always lays down in it :D so its normal and yes be more careful next time don't want them to stress :D.

Yeah I had never seen him do this before. I thought he was dead. I think he has made a bed in that corner as he is there again now. Sleeping away. Not a stressful tank at all anymore as the terror that the two O's fought with is now gone and they have had their own peaceful tank for a while now. Thanks for the info.

Yea oscars are known for doing werid things why i like them so much :grinno: .

Like did you know they or most play with ping pong balls takes them awhile to see what it is for and stuff but they will play with it after awhile :D.

yes oscars are renowned for this, they are soooooooooo laid back its unbeleiveable, my two matures ones are sooo laid back its untrue even to the point i have now two 4-5inchers in with them and there not fazed in the least, so got two lazing around and two juvi who wont sit still

Everyone else has already answered but yes-he was snoozin' :-) Each of my 5 Oscars has a spot they've picked as their 'bedroom' in their tanks. Smartest and most aware kind of fish there is as far as I'm concerned.
