so a semi local women has 2 oscars, and a pleco... one red oscar and other is a albino both are alittle bigger then a popcan in length

at the moment i have a 75g and 130g 6ft tank up and going with fish in it too.... 75g has 2 jack dempseys(5-6"), 4-5 convicts(2-3"), yellow lab(3"), hap morri blue dolphin(3"), pleco, and chinese algea eater, 130g has one tiger oscar (5"), one cichlasome dimerus(6"), one tailspot ctenopoma(3"), one convict(4"), black ghost knife fish(8").. and yes everyone gets along with one another

but anyway this semi local women has these 2 oscar and pleco in a 38gallon tank, with a 7-8" pleco ... the red oscar has HITH albino seems to be ok, they've had them in this 38gallon since they were babies, basically they were her husbands and he took care of em and everything, he left awhile ago and she hasnt done anything for them so they have been neglected for 3 months atleast form what she tells me....

so i was going to take them off her hands before they end up dieing in the tank, i have a QT tank setup which ive had forever as a QT.. im thinking i'll put the red oscar in there and then add a 12" air stone, and put temp up to 82deg and add milafix and pimafix, and do 30% water changes every other day for him... as for the albino if that one is totaly healthy looking and eats well i'll introduce it into my 130g and as for the pleco im not sure maybe a local fish store will take him, unless someone on the forum here would want to buy him or trade for a peice of cool driftwood or cool plants.....

do you's think the measure's above will be sufficient enough to bring him back to better health ? here are some pics she sent me today im going to get them friday morning

Me personally,I think so.

Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

oh i also forgot to add that i will likely add aquarium salt as well... hopefully he isnt too far gone and pulls through with what i have mentioned i plan on doing, hard to tell how bad he really is by the pics she sent me, hoping thats all i need to do is crank temp to 82deg, add salt, add melafix, pimafix, water change every other day 30%, air stone, no light, try feeding him some bloodworms or carnivore sticks...hopefully he does totally fine....

Nicely colored O's! worth the try.
maybe others can address nutritional aspects of curing HITH.

Oh god that's a BEAUTIFUL albino Oscar. Damn shame that it's neglected. :/

And yeah, I reckon what you're planning is good, though you should quarantine all of the fish. Who knows if the others may have something or not, what with sharing a tank with a HITH oscar and all that.

i plan on getting ride of the pleco so no biggie there... only thing is that my hospital tank i have is only like a 10g tank.... how long should they be in the 10g tank thats pretty small for two fish the size of pop cans to be in lol ..... and im getting mixed opinions on another forum im part of to not use melafix and pimafix and just leave him be in good clean water with good food and etc... would it hurt him to put the pimafix and melafix in just to help any damage that has been done like a extra kick in the bum to kick start it ?

i dont wanna do anything to hurt or make it worse for him.... my 130g tank is VERY clean and disease free, and would like to keep it that way as well lol ... any help and suggestions would be great :) suppose to pick them guys up 2morrow (friday) it thursday afternoon here at the moment

can HITH spread at all ? or would they maybe have something else that can spread to my other fish in my tank ...

well i got them home today, there alot bigger then she told me lol.. which is no biggie...but the red oscar has HITH more then the albino...red oscar has some redness to his HITH and the albino looks to be just a start of HITH possibly.... she fed them feeders all the time and bloodworms so im assuming the feeders she fed them has done this to them...and being neglected for 3 months or more... should i just do 30% water change every other day with this guys or shall i use meds on them, the redness on the red oscar looks sore on him....
