I have a 3in. O for 2 months now it it doesn't seem to eat. It would just chew and spit (out the mouth) the food out. I have had 3 Os in the past but none did anything like this. I feed it hikari gold, omega one pellets and omega one brine and it does this to all. The only time it actually ate was a month ago when I used freezed dried shrimp and a week ago when I feed a piece of nightcrawler.
Water chem (amon & nitrite 0 and nitrate 10ppm) with bi-weekly water changes
Is it just being stubborn? And how long can a young fish go without eating? Or is it eating a portion of the chewed up food and just spiting the majority of the food? It is out swimming and even rearranging the plants, which I took out. When I vac gravel I see strains of solid brown waste; it can't be the other fish's waste b/c the ralph cat's waste is red (so no bullying). Coloring is an intense orange which was the same as when I got it.
