I have three baby Oscars in a 40 Gallon Breeder with a common pleco right now. Currently, they are doing fine, but I am concerned that there is too little circulation in the tank. I had a Maxi-Jet 900 in there when it was just the pleco, but that thing blows smaller fish around. Should I just order a smaller powerhead, or is there something else I could do?

As long as the water is being circulated/oxygenated then you should be fine. Most of these types of fish come from slow moving/stagnant waters, so as long as there is some movement you should be fine.
