Oregon, it's part of 'Murica!
Ok so I have screwed up and have too many fish than I can house like some people on this forum. I have a have problem where I see a pretty fish and buy it without thinking. Anyway i have to get rid of some of my stock and was thinking on what to do with the ones left.

Should I:

A - Keep my oscar in the 75 gallon with a couple parrots
B - Move him to his own 55 gallon with not other fish

I know there is a huge debate as to whether an oscar needs 55 or 75 minimum. I figure if move him to his own take it would be better for him then being with other fish further polluting the water. Please no hating on my parrots, I love them like I assume you love your fish.

4-5 blood parrot I think would be too much for a 55.

Right now my stock is:

75 gallon
*1 oscar 8"
*3 blood parrots 1.5", 4", 4.5"
*1 common pleco 5"
*1 flowerhorn x trimac 3"
*2 convicts 1"
*1 pictus 5"

55 gallon
*2 blood parrots 3.5", 4"
*2 firemouth 2.5", 4"
*1 chocolate 2.5"

20 gallon
*1 bonsai flowerhorn 2.5"
*1 blood parrot 2.5"

----------------------------------
I would like to do it this

75 gallon
*4 blood parrots
*1 bonsai flowerhorn
*1 pictus maybe

55 gallon
*1 oscar

well i have my oscar in a 120. with African cat. moving cat to 55. Scottie hates him. but ya a 55 is good fore a O.i had Scottie in one fore a long time.he out grew it. he is 16" long now. hes a tiger.

This isn't a permanent thing for it, I am still trying to get my hands on a 125. Looking on craigslist with not luck, anytime I find one its some idiot that wants $1000+ for it.

What are oscars growth rate when they slow down after they hit 9-10 inches?

Well I moved him into the 55 gallon out in the living room and don't like it. I like him in my room in the 75 gallon. So in a week I will move him back and keep the 2 parrots with him. I gave away one of the new parrots I bought, one of the firemouths, the chocolate, and the 2 convicts. So right now its:

75 gallon
*5 parrots
*1 firemouth
*1 pictus
*1 common pleco

55 gallon
*1 oscar
*1 flowerhorn trimac

20 gallon
* 1 bonsai flowerhorn

So in a week after the bonsai gets over ick I will set it up like this

75 gallon
*1 oscar
*2 parrots
*1 pictus
*gonna try to get a dwarf pleco to replace the common

55 gallon
*2 parrots
*1 bonsai
*1 flowerhorn trimac

20 gallon
*1 baby parrot

i would get rid of a pleco all together... they produce way too much waste for that setup... unless you want to be doing water changes every other day...
