i cant decide what to stock my tank with and i think i might do an oscar but my question is what could his tank mate be preferably another cichlid i was thinking maybe a salavini

Search it man, there's quite a few things you can do with an oscar and a 110. A salvani could hold his own with an oscar, just keep in mind they grow very slowly, oscars don't, and you would have to get them at reasonable sizes..
I've found with every 1 of my 6 Oscars that they completely ignore Geophagus/Eartheaters. I don't know why but they act like they don't even see them from the second I put them in the tank. Those are cichlids plus they're the perfect cleaner-uppers. Quite a few only get 6-8" so you could have several. He'd have his own clean-up crew.

Salvinis are more aggressive than oscars so even if you got a oscar that was somewhat larger the salvini should be alright.

Is the O alone in the 110 at the moment?

I find that my JD's and O's pay absolutely no attention to each other at least not until my JD's spawn and then get a bit moody.
I personally liked the above idea of a having a clean up crew, certainly getting me thinking
