Oscar Tank Mate

Hi

I have a tank that is 48x15x18 with one oscar in it. Its actually quite funny as the Oscar is not much bigger then a Mollie at this point in time. I know however that it will grow so I though I might as well just start with a 4ft tank straight off.

Will there be enough room for a tank mate when the Oscar gets to full size. I'd like to put in a bottom feeder that won't outgrow the tank or get eaten by a full grown Oscar

Strange dimensions for a tank.... Doesn't sound much larger than a 55g. I am gonna say that it will be much easier on you in the long run to keep the oscar solo... adding tankmates will make keeping up on maintenance difficult.

well since the oscar is in the cichlid family an they get along with Bichir's u could go with the sen. Bichir. they only get around 8 inches an they look really cool. check out my pic if u want to see one.
