i have a 5ft x 2ft x 2ft tank and would like to buy a juvenile oscar what tank mates do you think are suitable.
i was think of getting a juvenile gold severum, a pair of Geophagus argyrostictus, a blue acara. in the tank ate the moment i have an albino common plec, a jade eyed cichlid and a Synodontis eupterus.
Do you think they will live together with no deaths.
thank you for the advice.

Let's see, that works out to a 150 g tank. Severums are good, so are Acaras (be careful you don't buy a Green Terror marked as an Acara). And Geos are awesome with Oscars. For some reason I can't fathom, my Oscars don't look twice at Geos. I've got Geo(s) in 3 of my 4 Oscar tank. I also have an s.eupterus in 2 of the tanks with Oscars. All the fish you named should fit as far as bio-load with weekly water changes. You've even got a good chance of all of them getting along.
Finally-a good stock list :-)

I keep convicts with mine to clean up after them. My oscars tolerate just about any fish smaller than them that they can't eat, any bigger pick on the oscars. Even fish small enough to eat have been accpeted in the tank if they last a few weeks without being caught. The key is well fed and plenty of room. If they have space and a full belly they don't seem to care about much else - assuming water conditions are correct.
