Did a water-change, some tank maintenance, and changed up decor a little bit the day after New Years Day - 2011. New year and fresh start for my 140 Gallon Oscar tank.

yeah. Emerald Cory Cats. lol. I guess I better get that out of the way. My Oscars don't seem to see the corys as food. I have had corys with them with the Oscars since the Oscars were small. I don't feed live. But don't get me wrong there are many other fish my Oscars would try to eat. Just not trying to get these 2 E Corys just yet.
I love all the respect Oscars get on this site. I guess they are just too common for here. But I am sure Oscars are the large fish that got people heading in the direction of "Monster Fish".
Osacrs are what got me started keeping bigger fish.. I have two albino oscars. But yeah after keeping some other big cichlids oscars seem kinda slow and boring. Not to say anything bad about them cause I like mine. But I also have a big jag, and a group of festae im growing out and a Midas, jack dempsey, green terror.
I like the little cory cats. I bet they really help to keep the uneaten food cleaned up.
I think Oscars are what got most people on this site into monster fish. but, i still see a lot of people talking bad about them on here. I have gone away from keeping Oscars a few times over the years. but something always ends up bringing my back to "The Oscar Eperience". I know what you mean, they are a little "slow and boring", but there is just something about them that sets them apart. their intelligence, their graceful slow movement, their interactions with humans, their lack of fear, etc....
I moved and had to start a new tank setup, I don't have any oscars at the moment. I am currently in the grow out phase of a Central American Cichlid community tank. .... It's been a great experience so far. I little higher degree of difficulty with this one. lol.
