Alright i have heard from many people that oscars are big and mean and will eat anything you put in with them, i'm trying to prove them wrong, that and i really like oscars. What can put in with an oscar in a 75 gallon or bigger(make a suggestion). I've never kept an oscar or anything that big before but i have done great with every other kind of fish includeing a stingray, so i think i can handle them.

nothing. Not that the oscar will eat/kill anything else you put in the tank, but a 75g is min. size tank for 1 oscar. If the tank is at least 100g, then other slightly aggressive cichlids would work fine such as a Jack Dempsey or Green Terror. Some silver dollars would look nice!

Also, how easy is it to breed oscars or jack dempsys? I've never actually bred a cichlid before, but i've never really tried either. Also, could i put jaguars in with oscars?

well i had and still keep oscars for myself and they are actually my fav. oscars go great with any semi agrressive fish thats about the same size or bigger then them. my oscar is housed with a spotted gar, pink tilapia, red pacu, pleco. and clown knife. they all get along great. i used to have a convict in there but it was a little too aggresive and jack dempseys are the worst because they usually tear the oscar's fins apart so u shouldnt house them with a jack dempsey.. ive neva tried a green terror but im gonna soon...but despite what others say oscars are great fish with huge appetites

don't know much about breeding O's or JD's. A jag might be too aggressive for an O, unless you have a larger tank, at least 180g.

My biggest tank right now is a 125g, but i planned on building something around 180-200g or possibly even bigger, depending on how big the tank is going to have to be.

Oscars are a misunderstood fish. From my experience they are not that aggressive at all, however they will just try and eat anything that will fit in its mouth. So if it it not seen as food then I wouldn't worry.
I have kept them with Firemouths, Acaras, Severums, chocolates, Blood Parrot, clown loach, plecs and the Oscar hasn't even battered an eye lid.

^I agree with above. My O's are not aggressive at all, and any fish they have eaten was simply down to my mistake.

They love to eat... no matter if I've just fed them if I walk past the tank there they will be at the front waiting for more.

I keep mine with a JD pair who spawn about once a month. I've never kept any of the spawn. But, if you have a male and female and they pair up you'll have regular spawn.

As for the O, you can't really sex them so you won't know the male from female till you get the eggs.

Personally I think you really can't go wrong with them, they're a great choice :)

I'd have to agree, they're not mean, they're just hungry tummies with fins and a mouth, haha.
