okay so i just got a jack dempsey its around six and a half or seven inches long, i also have an oscar about ten inches long. so heres the problem the oscar has been in the tank for about three weeks by himself . . . along with a pleco, i put the dempsey in there today and they wont stop attacking eachother. i have a 125 and the guy that sold it to me said they should be fine because the tank was spacious and there is plenty of places for them to hide. i need some help because the dempsey is actually getting the best of the oscar

The tank is big enough, but with them being older it might take some time for them to settle down. If they settle down. Do you have a divider? That might help. I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in soon. Best of luck!

the best thing is to drain the tank about 80% (do not remove fish)then rearrange th tank so the one that has been in the tank the longest doesnt have any territory, refill (condition the water of course)and see if that works,i did it a couple of times with my oscars to change them to different tanks and add tankmates, works most off the time.

Is the oscar is starting the fight ? Try moving all the decor in the tank around so everything is in a new spot ,breaks up any territory claims. The JD will defend itself .
Ok Buddha you beat me to it..
