My lfs has a really sweet Oscar right now And he is the right size for my tank. My question Is will he beat up on my pim and the ghost knife I want to get? I have heard that if an Oscar is the only real cichlid in the tank they will be calm because they have no competition for territory. Is that true? Thnx again

The pim is 6 inches the knifed at the lfs are around 4-6 and the o is 4. I think the sizes are close enough I should be ok that way. Its aggressiveness I'm worried about

nah you'll be fine unless you get a strangely territorial oscar. My oscars are pansys. They got scared of the blackworms I dropped into the tank and they are about 6" each.

yeah should be fine unless you get a psycho one or one that thinks it can eat things larger than it, but even an aggressive one would usually only be aggressive towards other cichlids that it views as a threat or something small enough for it to eat. with a knife and cat they will be different looking enough and act way different so he shouldn't bother them, will def be a cool tank thats for sure!

(P.S. since O grows faster than knife make sure to have lots of hidey spots for it and when they are small bgk can be shy about eating so make sure it gets enough food and it should grow fast enough and shouldnt have trouble with food once its larger)
