Oscar with HITH that keeps comming back...

I don't know what else to do...

I've been doing daily water changes...
Feeding Hikari gold and cichlid sticks...

Water temp is 84 and i've added salt for the water changes...

The other fish are fine.... the Oscar shows healing then whammo the hole get deeper... Saturday i thought he was going to be just fine... the dimples in his head were almost gone and showing new growth....
Today i just really looked at him and was like WTH!!! the growth is gone and the dimples are deeper...

Also a couple of more spots on top of his head are starting to show...

And for no reason he will just take off and crash into things in the tank now... ...

Aside from a vet visit what else can i do... i treated him for parasites twice already to help with the HITH.

is your oscar old?? if so, it may just be getting near impossible for his body to really fight the disease off.

i had a 10+ year old oscar the same thing happened to, despite beyond perfect water conditions, and the best of foods.

they make HITH medications, however IDK how effective they are.

just keep up with the water changes and feed more of a variety of foods and in little amounts.

This is something I worry about constantly with my O, I have read so much about it and seen so many stories, I am always watching him.

I found this article, which has some info about the disease, I am trying to find the one I read not to long ago it was very informative. The only thing I know is you need to make sure his diet is varied quite a bit and water is maintained properly. You may want to get some kind of vitamins to give him also, as most I've read says it has alot to do with vitamin deficiency.

Try some meds? Mine had it and I've tried Melafix and some OTC meds that specify for HITH but again it only stopped it not regress it. But I've heard Fish Zole works so I'm going to get that and see if the holes start patching up.
