I have done everything for my Oscar but the HITH isn't going away and its frustrating.

Nitrites and ammonia are at 0.
Nitrates are never higher than 10ppm.

No carbon in the filters.

No stray volts.

I have put Metronidazole in its' food for treatment.

I feed hikari gold and at lease one a week, home made fish food (blended fish w/ vitamins, veggies and garlic).

What other options do I have? Is there a fish doctor I can take it too?

Even if it's cured the pits will never go away. It's like pox marks from the Chicken Pox it's there for life.

there is also speculation that a ph that is too high can cause HITH, make sure the ph is between 6-7. if the pits aren't progressing then the erosion will heal a bit but as aquanero said they will always be somewhat visible.

I cured mine by keeping nitrates as low as you do but with smaller water changes. I also added one of those vitamin pyramids to his filter box right after hitting him with the metronidazole. It worked, but my O's pits were very new and small. I also had to add melafix to wipe out a small tuft of fungus in one pit.

It wouldn't be a waste to buy some new pellets, dry foods have a relatively short shelf life, and it's highly possible that HITH is related to a nutritional deficiency.
