ive got an 8 inch auranti in a 5ft tank with a 5 inch hoplo catfish im wanting to put a oscar in with him aswell do you think they would mix well

Yeah... The only luck I ever had with that was introducing a slightly smaller ( 6") channa into the larger (8"-10") Oscar's tank. Other way around is no good.
