Hey one of my mom's friends has an oscar that apparently has a "yellow growth" coming out of it's eye. The growth is about half the size of the eye. I have not seen it this is what we read in an email. I can ask for more details pictures. She asked "is this normal?" well def. not normal... any idea on what it is?? And how to cure it, if possible? My recommendations would be big water change, raise the temp a bit, and probably add salt. Good idea? If so how much salt?

I know I'm being vague, but that is all the info I have. A growth on the eye sounds really gnarly...

whats up with the smilely face your not happy about it are you but sound like a parasite and if its an oscar i'd say it has something to do with water quality what size tank and how often do you change the water

i'd say right now as you read this find a way to get the water changed do a 50% water change even if its not the water the oscar will like it and add some salt go with a tablespoon or around 3 teaspoons per 5 gallons of water depends how bad it is you can add more then post some pics if you can it sounds like a parasite
