oscar wounds

my oscar just ran up to a decoration today and had a big wound on its head. the skin is peeling and it pretty much the size of the nail on your pinkie finger. ive put him into a quarantine tank. what else can i do? its still pretty active even if it has a wound

Add a little salt, get the temp at 80ish, and keep the water clean.
They're tough and he'll heal right up

Melafix probably won't hurt either but the basics are as Rallysman said, 1-1 1/2 tbsp/5G for the salt

I agree... with the ammount of times I've moved in the past year, one of my oscars ran into a piece of driftwood and cut a white mark on his head, but it healed up after a week or so.

They're tough fish.
