^thank you didnt know if they wouldnt be aggro enough are to aggro so I was making sure

all o's are different, some are aggresive some are very passive. so you really can't know. IME mine have been just big and dopey. great fish, very dopey..

Of course make sure the oscar is close in size. In the past i've found that the younger the oscar is the better tank mate it makes, where as if the oscar is older and has only been by itself or only around other oscars they seem to be alot more agressive to other fish

ive got O's in a tank now with alot more aggresive fish than they are and everyone seems to get along just fine, youllhave to try it out and see what works for your individual situation

It worked for me... for about 6 months. Then my O decided he didn't want company and just killed about 5 full grown mbuna one night.

the main issue with putting an oscar in a mixed mbuna tank is basically diet differences. There are other issues, such as an oscar being able to eat smaller mbunas, and the one that would concern me most is that mbunas will mercilessly harrass an oscar.

If it is mixing an oscar will some large haps in a large tank, then it shouldn't be a big issue as long as the o is acclimated to the water conditions the malawis prefer
