anyone know why my brother's albino oscar looks like he got dirty. looks like someone spilled dirt on him. he has two of them a lemon and an albino red oscar. is that a condition or poor breeding. dont know please help out if you can

they sometimes get faded or look dirty in high nitrate tanks, does he keep up maintenance/check parameters?
i see him every weekend, i guess saturday is his maintenance day. the tank to me looks over populated. i remember when he got them, they did not look like that. he said that all his levels are good.
Mine every once in ahwile will get that light black dirt color on him. I change the tank water weekly though. Rarely does he get it though, kickthefool might be right. I have slacked because of school and etc. and skipped a week before. Do a 50% water change and tell us if he clears up. I've never worried about it though and he's healthy as any other cichlid I own.
yeah he eats like a champ. i will tell him to do a 50% water change. lest see what happens. thanks everyone
