oscar

for one oscar you need about a 75gal. with good filtration...........also need to keep that tank clean with lots of water changes and vacumming the gravel......they're extremely messy fish.........

get a good submersible heater since you are in ohio, i recommend visitherm deluxe and stealth series, and ebo jager, plus lots of filtration

:iagree: with both the above posts. for one oscar I'd go with a 75 gallon tank or larger (bigger is always better). if you go with a 75, personally I'd put on 2 Aquaclear 110 filters and a Visitherm stealth 250 watt or 300 watt heater. titanium heaters are also very nice but more expensive. the reason I suggest the visitherm stealth or titanium is because oscars get very big and could possibly break a glass heater if it got spooked and rammed into it once full grown. for the equipment I'd either order from www.bigalsonline.com or print out the pages on big als with the prices and take them to Petsmart who may price match for you. :)

I'd go with a 75g tank(minimum), Tronic Heater (just because they make heater guards for they're heaters, which I recommend just in case), 2 Fluval 404/405 Canister Filters (messy fish).

hi! i have a blood red oscar and of her eye got blinded due to a certain disease. is there any chance it would grow back or someting? :)

My dad has 1 Oscar, Spot, in a 160g Tall. He is 25 years old, has lived in 6 houses in 3 different states, and has lasted longer than 2 wives!
