Yes it can be done but as with before water quality will be an issue, along with that the footprint really is suitible for such a large cichlid in terms of depth.

ok. well im going to just get s standard 55 gallon from petco with a good fitler and a heater. im not gunna do any substrate because its harder to clean. sounds good?

u can keep an oscr in a 55 as long as you dont put any other fish with it. In a 55 you will have to do big water changes a couple times a week just to keep the water quality in good condition. HOwever there is a very good chance that the oscar will outgrow the 55 within the first 1.5 year. Most oscars get 12+ inches which a 55 is 12 inches wide. they will easly hit 9-11 inches the first year.

ive got 2 oscars measuring 10 inchers in a 75 with 6 gouarmis and a pleco. ive got 2 400s runnin it and i dont do water changes that often and everything is perfect in it. it can def be done.

is that a current photo? because the way it looks in the picture, either that's not a 75G, or those Oscars are not 10" long . . . it could just be the optics, or the angle the photo is taken . . .

Yes as long you keep good water conditions I have 2 oscars along with 3 silver arowanas and 3 red bellied pacu in my 10,000 gallon pond I love hand feeding
