I bought 2 oscars. They are 2-3 inch atm. How long do I have before I need to transfer them to a 125g. My 70 is 4x18x18. Thx

Possibly never, that tank is bare minimum for oscars, but the 125 is a much better option for them long term. Why wait? If the tank is availabe upgrade them now. In either tank the two most important things are the quality of the food and water. I only feed and recommend NLS Thera+A. For water quality you need to get in the habit now of doing large weekly water changes, don't let the nitrate get over 20ppm before a water change. Oscars are extremely prone to HLLE and in oscars it is almost always caused be low quality food and/or water.

i think at the most, 6months, in 6months they will both be around 8-10in with good food and water quality and two fish that size in a 70g, especially super messy ones like Os is gonna be too much. but if the 125 is available now and doesnt have anything in it big enough/agressive enough to hurt them then why not just trasnfer them now and save yourself the hassle of trying to keep up with water quality in the 70g
