Posted this here and in the catfish forum couldn't decide which would be better.

Hey guys thinking down the road current stock is bumblebee oscar, aequidens metae, clown loach and an asian bumblebee catfish. All will be moved into a larger tank 120 or above and was wondering will the oscar get too big for the bb cat ? Right now they are together in a 55 gal but was thinking that from what I understand they stay at the 6 inch mark will the o eventually see him as food once hes grown a bit ? The bb cat is Groening quickly he was the smallish fish but has already gotten bigger than the loach and is starting to get thicker.

Any thoughts?

would have to be a huge oscar to attempt a fully grown male bb cat, they get 6 inch without the tail so sl length, if yours is a female no chance as females get alot thicker and a bit longer, as long as the oscar is not so aggressive to just kill for fun ... o's are usually mellow with fish that are smaller but to big to eat, i think you will be fine. my 12 inch butti wouldnt be able to eat my 5 inch bb if they were in the same tank thats for sure...

male and female bb cats are easily told apart as the males bits really hang out like a shark...

Is yours an asian or the larger p.bufonius ?
If its an asian cool cuz I wanted to move him into the big tank. Do you think that rhe bb and the loach would get along in a larger tank cuz when I added the bb to the 30 gal it beat the pants off the loach had to move him to the 55

Mine is asian bb yes he is a little legend, big tank will reduce aggression.. I would be more worried about the loach as they grow mega slow... im sure they will be fine pal!-)
