There is a pond down the road from my house and it runs off a little ways and i noticed tons of baby and large crawfish. I heard these would be a nice treat for my oscars, but since they are coming out of a pond i'm worried they may have parasites or something. anybody know a way to make sure they don't?;)

nope, but people catch minnows and feed it to there fish so i dont see why you cant pick these guys up, also if you have a spare 10g you could breed them for food.

I feed my oscars crays and i actually just did a bit ago, best thing to do is quarintine and then just use anti parasite tablets

ok that sounds good. the fish in that pond are pretty healthy too so i guess no harm in scooping them up.

i would haha great way to save a few bucks i think

yep. and i can't get them anywhere else here that i know of. there are enough out there... looks a little over populated. will melafix do any good? or salt

Don't waste your money on Melafix or salt. Just put them in a quarantine tank with a parasite tablet and wait it out.

Just make sure the parasite medicine doesn't contain any copper or it will kill the crayfish.
