Today I spoked to a fishstore that told me not to keep delhezis with any kind of fish because they eventually grow big enough to kill everything, even a an oscar. This maked little worried because I keep a delhezi ( 20cm) in my SA cichlid community. No problem so far but what do you think? should I remove my poly? Tankmates : oscars, firemouths , JD , Scalare and two pictus cats.

I'd be more worried about the oscar killing the delhezi. Delhezis are not very aggressive.

Polys are not the vicious killing machines that alot of LFS make them out to be. You get the occasional bad apple but most are docile to non food sized fish.

Just noticed the pictus cats....my senegal (7") just killed and disemboweled my pictus (4"). Hasn't touched anything else, I think he just didn't care for the pictus competing for his food.

Are you sure it was the senegal?

Yup, he's the only one thats aggressive in the tank. 4 silver dollars, a 4 inch gold saum that leaves everyone alone, the 2 pictus, well 1 now and the senegal. I've got one of the oddball aggressive senegals. I've seen him attack other polys on a couple occasions. Thats why he is not in with my other polys.

should be fine.
i'd be afraid of the oscar outcompeting the del for food.
most delhezis arent much aggressive.
