i was thinking of mixing the giant gaurami and my oscars together again.... yup the last time was 3 months ago the GG was beaten badly by the oscars but then the GG was 9" and the oscars were 4.5".... now the oscars are 6" and the GG is 12"... would this work for or against the GG? and the tank will be 195g... any advice comments... thanks in advance...

You can always try because each fish personal temperament is a bit different. Although I've found that if they didn't get along once they usually don't get along any better especially when they are even bigger. If you do put them back together just keep a close eye on things.

With the GG not sure because I've never had one. With the oscar I would advise on it. Dither fish are more for a fish with a lower temperament. Unless the fish get a decent size and can swim faster than the oscar when it gets full size, they'll end up usually being fancy food. Although I never advise against trying though, I've had some crazy groups of fish that every place said wasn't possible and for some reason it worked just fine for me. You've got a good large tank environment so you can definitely give it a shot. Just would advise on some cheaper dither if you do decide to try that. Usually fish are easier to introduce at smaller sizes especially aggressive fish like cichlids.

Thanks Tim... i guess will watch them for tmrw after i move them to the tank... if not they r not getting along then i will try the dithers.... fingers crossed.... i really want this to work man the gg is in a makeshift tank round flat tub... he could do with a better tank than a tub....

so got the fellas in there today... hahha guess what the GG was like i am the boss around here!!!... couldnt belive my eyes... but for now they are fine... GG being true to its nature and chasing the oscars around... but for some reason i am sure the O's are gonna come back in few days.... i think the move and the NTS caught them blind sided with the GG :D.... so its 1-0 GG..... thanks guys will keep u posted.... will post pics tmrw after i get the lights fixed....

I've had them together with no problem - but, it does depend on each fish's personality.
There are nasty oscars, and gentle oscars, and the same with GG's.
