In a 100+ gallon tank, yeah you probably could do that. 1 oscar and a few hrps. Just make sure the HRPs are big enough to not get eaten and have rocks etc to hang out around. Oscars are usually pretty calm for big guys and cryptoheros are quick and tough. They like different pH's but both are pretty adaptable.

I've kept hrp before but never with Oscars and I was just curious as to how it would go, my Oscars are pretty calm and docile for the most part, they didn't like my green severum too much but don't mind my red tiger severum at all. The green one was a bully but I have a 125, so that'd be big enough for 2 Oscars, 2-4 hrp's till a pair forms and my 2 plecos and severum? So 7-9 fish for now?

That's going to be a lot for a 125 when they are full grown. With the plecos and severum I would just put the HRP's. Though personally with those other fish, I would do some south American cichlids instead of HRP's. Some examples would be Guianacara species, bandit cichlids, a. heckelli, etc

Ok, so just keep the severum and oscars together? Maybe I'll just give the hrp they're own set up, I have a 55 I don't use. Thank you

Convicts and Oscars are usually fine together. If anything the HRP might bully the O. I would not keep male and female HRP with them though. If they are in the mood to breed, all the fish maybe dead before you know it.
