I currently have an oscar just about over an inch long. I never planned on it but my girlfriend's friend has a 3" gold severum that they can't take care of anymore. At first I was like "sure I'll take it" but my 55 gal corner tank's pump died sometime the past day or 2 and I can no longer house him in there. The question is, will the sev and the oscar be ok together in a 55 together while I'm working on getting a new pump? I'm just worried the sev might be a little more aggresive to the oscar seeing the size difference.

There size isn't too drastic to worry about atm but plan on separating them soon as the oscar may not like the other soon...mine has killed a few fish but you never know

the oscar might end up killing it eventually as they grow but i wouldnt think right now but you never know..

Severums and oscars go well together. You may want to put a few dithers in there like giant danios so the two cichlids don't just take out aggression on each other.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out!

Thank you all so much for the response, feel a little more comfortable now in taking the sev. They're so gorgeous looking when they mature a little bit and can't wait to get the guy. What better way to get a healthy fish than for free, right? :headbang2
