So, I'm planning out a South American tank and would like to do an oscar and a couple other SA cichlids (thinking acara and severums). I'd like to add a catfish, but want to try and keep it South American, and I'm running out of ideas for SA cats that aren't either too small to risk (like pictus) or way to large for me to handle (like RTC). I haven't gotten the tank yet, it'll be to fit what I decide, but I won't be going over 200 gallons more then likely. Any ideas?

I've always liked the jaguar wood cats think they reach 9"ish mark full grown hide alot in nooks of woods but look awesome imo although they are peaceful they will eat smaller fish in the dark hours I'm sure their are alot of speices u could use in this set up id just have a browse what's available around you and of course research before you purchase so not to run into any unexpected problems

I hadn't thought of the jaguar wood's. They'd be perfect! Thank you! And thanks tlindsay for the link to the other topic, gives me a few ideas.

I know it doesn't actually matter, but I'm trying to keep it a South American biotope. I had thought of them, but the locality put me off. Got a few ideas for some SA cats, but most of them outside of pictus are either hard to find around here or super expensive I appreciate the feedback!

Not to spoil the thread, but why not a pleco instead of a catfish?
