my friend set-up his 200gal tank a few weeks ago,and after cycling was offerd a 12"oscar as the owner was shutting his tank down.he accepted gratefully and duly housed the oscar,the previous owner said he liked to treat him to live feeders now and then.last nite my friend decided to move his stock from another tank over and shut it down prior to converting it to marine.bagged the 4"+ convicts floated them for about 20mins,then opened the bag.2 lessons learned-oscars think fish in bags =food,12"oscars can eat 4"convicts
he was extremly p-o'd,but has now fallen in love with his oscar after putting his hand in the tank and it came up to be petted

I have a tiger Oscar and a albino and they started my collection and are my fav. I noticed the same thing when I had my black shark in a bag waiting to but him in once dropped in. the tiger Oscar our oldest got so mad it wasn't food changed the prettiest colors I've ever seen he is normally somewhat bland.

I definitly consider my Oscar a friend. when he sees me he swims all over the front of the tank lookin for me and he will eat right out of my hand. You definitley have to be careful about putting little fish in there though they will eat anything they can fit in their mouth
