Hi All,

It's been a while but was kicking around this idea of a new tank set-up wanted to hear suggestions or problems with the following.

The tank I plan on setting up is a 240 gallon 6 X 2 x 2.5

For inhabitants I was looking to put in 3 or 4 oscars as the main attraction.

I would also like to add a school of 20 to 25 giant danios maybe 3 or 4 silver dollars and 4 or 5 black convicts.

I figured this will give me room to add a couple of fish on the future after all settles down or I find that must have at the LFS

The tank will be drilled as I have kept saltwater fish for a while and like the clean setup of a drilled tank.

Any potential issues with the above?

Still trying to figure out filtration? Will defintinely have a sump, size is TBD, but I still trying to figure out how to keep nitrates low?

Sounds pretty good to me. I personally would add a few more silver dollars. Like 7. Even if you did 4 oscars, 7 silver dollars, and 4-5 male convicts that would probably be plenty. I would try to get all male cons to avoid breeding. I had a breeding pair of cons back down my 9" oscar once. I would be careful with your bioload too with that many fish. I guess my preference and caution would be to pick either the danios or the dollars. I wouldn't do both. I have a small shoal of 5 danios in my 125 and they are tons of fun to watch. I kind of want to add a few more. Those are just my thoughts. Sounds like it would be a pretty cool tank though. Good luck!

Thanks will probably keep out the silver dollars than, they do get big. I love having a school of fish like the danios. Plus i figure as the oscars grow they will be any additional food source and jsut continue to replace them as necessary. Would prefer to do that as apposed to introducing diesease infested feeder goldfish
