I have four 6"-8" Oscars that have grown up with each other for the last 6 months in a 150gal. For the last couple of nights an I mean nights 2 of my Oscars have been fighting very, very seriously I am only sure of one of the participant's because of the disturbed scales on the forehead. What do u think is causing this and how to get them 2 stop because it is very violent and all the splashing in the middle of the night is keeping me up !!!:WHOA::WHOA:

If two of them are pairing off I would keep those two and re-home the other two. A 150 is too small for 4 Oscars.

They are claiming territory and there isn't enough room for 4 to all have terrirory in a 150.

Them pairing off would cause the to fight so violently. So does this mean they are preparing to breed

i agree a 150 is not big enough for 4 oscars and plec. rehoming 2 of the oscars might be the only way to go.

I don't think the plec is the issue, regardless of if 2 are pairing up or not, a 150 does not have enough territory for 4 Oscars. If 2 are pairing up, and you spend some time looking at your tank and your fish's behavior, you will notice which 2 are a pair. But, it might just be some intense territorial fighting. I wouldn't keep more than 2 Oscars in that tank, regardless.

like lucy said-sit there and watch your tank for a while over a few days. you will see what two oscars are pairing up-i would get rid of the other two . four oscars wont work in a 150 gallon tank for life.
