Oscar Tummy
Is my O the only one who changes his colors to a 'camouflage' and stalks around the tank ambushing imaginary bugs? It's like one minute he's orange and olive/gray, responsive and needy. I turn around a few minutes later and he's totally tuned me out. He's got these black stripes and gray circles on his head and he's just transfixed on...nothing. My wiggling finger gets no response. He just sort of comes out of it slowly on his own after a minute or two. Or sometimes he'll slurp the surface loudly like when he eats a cricket. I guess it could be something he learned in the wild...

In what I call his (her?) 'sneaky' mode, his fins are erect and he breathes normally. Nothing seems wrong here, I just wondered if anybody else's Oscar does this.

do you play alot of metal gear solıd 4 ın the same room?
he mıght be gettıng ıdeas

oh and mıne dont they are always orange

My oscar use to school with my discus. :screwy: While i was able to buy a new heater and fix his filter for his tank.

Hmmmm.

No, I don't play video games around him. He can see me on the 'puter, though. Maybe he reads about things when I'm gone.

Are yours albino or maybe semi-albino? If an Oscar didn't have the dark pigmentation to play with, one might not notice the shift... But you would notice the stalking behaviour. Anybody else?

Discus! He must have thought he was the biggest one! Or maybe it was a parental thing?!

Ah. Those breedy O's. Can't get away from the breediness...

I have to say I have never noticed this behavior with my O's...

They do like to sulk when they don't get their way though...!
