Hi, i bought 2 tiger oscar yesterday, they are around 2inch now.
but they are barely out and swim they djust hide behind a wood, but they eat when i drop pellets in tank but only those that fall down close to where they are, is this normal in the beginning? any others that have gotten baby oscars where they hide alot the first days? and how loong untill they stop beeing scared and hide?

Yes, Oscars will hide at first- they are quite sulky Cichlids. They just need to get used to their surroundings. If they are feeding then there is nothing to worry about.

I got a 4" oscar I bought a few weeks ago. Took him/her almost two weeks to acclimate. Did the same thing. It would only eat what was in front of it. Alot of sulking and hiding the fist few days. Also had to treat it for ich. Happy as a clam now.

I got a 2inch Oscar right now that I bought two weeks ago. He was hiding for about a week, all he does now is beg for food when I walk by. Leave the lights off, and as long as there eating they will get use to your tank.

just wanted to innform for other readers that they started come to the front glass and begg for food after 4 days :) so now they come and hoping for food all the time when i sit down on my computer next to the tank:)
