Hi,

I‘m new to this side. One month ago i started my first Oscar tank (107 gallons)
1 Albino (lutino) oscar
1 Red tiger oscar
1 green terror which will be given away soon
Got the Oscars on 16th of October, both about 1,5 inch -> after 1 month they grew up to about 2,5 inch
I would like to document their growth for myself and maybe some of you guys are also interested in their journey. I apologize if my english isn t always on point but I‘m from europe and no native speaker.
Here are the first pics, about 1 hr after i got them. Especially the red tiger was extremely pale after delivery.

Red tiger:

And here they are now, a month later (pics were made 2 days ago)

Can not say much about the albino, i m not sure if its an albino or lutino, nothing changed

I m proud of the red tiger, if you compare the colours he has now to the pic when he arrived.

Hope u guys will follow their road to 12“ :)
Will try to update at least every 2 weeks.

Looking good so far Lucas.

As per your other thread, "oscar tank 107 gallons" and the advice you were given there, keep on top of those water changes to combat the increased bio load as they grow and they will soon put a lot of size on, though I do have my misgivings regarding that size tank for life.

Keep us posted, i'll be following their progress.

Will be trying to get hands on a bigger tank in about 8-9 months when i m moving to another place. Earlier is not possible and to give away the second oscar was something i decided not to do for myself.
Try to get away the last green terror and hope they will be fine till I can upgrade. I took your advice serious because thats why i asked in the first place.
Thanks again :)

Here we go... feeding time:
Bought Hikari cichlid gold to get better colours, but they seem like they don‘t like it. Normally they eat everything in a second...

My red tiger grew to about 3,5 inch (estimated), looking great (sry for bad pics... I hope next time I can take better ones)

Coming to my Albino ( 3inch, smaller one) it seems like I got a problem. First I thought about hole in the head, but my waterparameters are fine and also I try to variate the nutrition. I think it seems more like scars... but as far as I noticed, there was 1 day where the red tiger was hunting und bullying the albino. But the last days there was no bullying, they swam together without problem and seemed chilled. What do you guys think?

Hm if i look closer at the pics of the albino it also can just be his colouring (at least most of the „scars“) or am I wrong? Just don‘t want him to be in a bad condition

Albino hard to get pics... he just doesnt stand still
Seems like it was his colouring, looks fine to me

Red tiger definitely the better looking one of them

And here both together... on some days the red tiger is hunting the albino but on most of the days they swim together and get along fine

Short update on the green terror: I was able to give him away on monday
Now I can definitely say that the white marks on the albino weren‘t colouring. It were scars from the green terror, mostly attacking him at night, cause I never recognized anything during the day. I can tell that, because since the gt is away the albino is way more active and the scars are healing. Best decision i made so far i think ?
