hi all,
i am picking up two Oscars (tiger) on saturday, thay have bred in the past but, what i would like to know is will thay still breed after the move?

i know all cichlids can become "upset" after any move, or, should i not panic to much about it

thay are being moved from a 6x2x2 tank and thay live with a 15inc "walking cat" to my 5x2x2 and will be in the tank with a 13inc plec.

any advice would be great, thanks!:popcorn:

they might not breed for some time, and that is also considering the usual mood and sulking oscars have when moved. I've even had proven adult convicts not breed for months after a move

But eventually, YES they will!

I had a pair of oscars I gave to a buddy of mine. About 2 weeks later they bred with sucess. The female had laid eggs for me a couple times but they never got fertilized. He had about 200 fry that dwindled down to about 75 by the time they were 1" long. I'd say it all depends on how the fish are feeling after the move.

ok, thats great. i will keep you all updated, and send pic over the weekend

many thanks
