I have seen so called blueberry oscars that are dye dipped or injected. I hope that is not the case with youres it is cruel to the fish and will fade and shortin the lifespan of the fish

:iagree:

Juvenile O's can have some crazy coloring, usually begins to fade around 2" or so. I wouldnt own a dyed fish just a peeve of mine.

I've seen plenty of "Blueberry" Oscars over the years, but I've never seen one quite like this. But people are doing some nasty things to fish these days trying to increases sales. I would definately inquire as to why it is different before purchasing it, and don't always take the seller's word. If they are cruel enough to torture an animal for profit they are bad enough to lie for profit.

Also, FYI - The vast majority of dyed Oscars die within a month of being purchased, even when kept in proper conditions. The Blue also wears off rather quickly. I have one that I babied through it's first year and is now 5+ years old. He has several dark spots on him that look like bruises, he's not a pretty fish.

If it is natural, as mentioned, he will outgrow this unique feature quickly. Oscars are well known to have significant pattern changes from baby to juvi stages.

its not a blue berry o i would never own one i agree dye injection is mest up this o is rainbow colored the blue fades to purple and has bright red and orange with red eyes. also i dont own i found pic on web site i was just wondering if any one has seen one in person or owned one.

My Tiger had blue/green markings as a juvie. The picture you posted was too small for me to see real detail (my eyes are probably bad lol) Here's a picture of mine 9 months ago and then now. I think the one you posted is a juvie Tiger Oscar.
